Awalnya Samsung Indonesia berencana untuk mendatangkan ponsel dengan sistem operasi Android pada tahun ini. Namun rencana itu berubah karena berbagai pertimbangan.

"Kita ingin menghadirkan ponsel dengan sistem operasi yang berbasis Android yang lebih seksi kepada konsumen di Indonesia," jelas Product Marketing HHP Business Departement PT Samsung Elctronics Indonesia (SEIN) Romeo Michael Vau, di Restoran Euphoria, Mega Kuningan, Jakarta, Selasa (13/10/2009).

Lebih lanjut Romeo mengatakan, penundaan ponsel Android Samsung di Tanah Air tidak akan berlangsung lama. Pasalnya, Samsung akan segera menghadirkannya pada kuartal pertama atau paling lambat kuartal kedua di 2010. Untuk memperkuat pasar, salah satu operator besar pun telah digandeng untuk melakukan bundling.

"Untuk mempopulerkan Android memang dibutuhkan kerja sama dengan operator, untuk memajukan pengembang aplikasi yang bercita rasa lokal. Karena memang disitulah letak keunggulan dari Android," tambahnya.

Samsung Indonesia sendiri, belum mau mebeberkan lebih jauh ponsel seri apa yang akan digelontorkan untuk memeriahkan pasar Android. Namun yang jelas, platform Android yang dipasang merupakan generasi terbaru dari Android. Ini untuk memberikan pengalaman tambahan bagi pengguna Samsung untuk berselancar.

"Kalaupun tidak bisa dengan platform generasi terbaru, paling tidak bisa disediakan dengan harga kisaran Rp3 juta. Sebab, jika ponsel dibandrol dengan harga Rp6 juta, dan menggunakan platform lama, itu sama saja dengan bunuh diri," pungkas pria tambun ini.

Samsung Rilis Ponsel Mewah Rp9,4 Juta

Samsung menggandeng pelaku industri fesyen Giorgio Armani merilis ponsel mewah seharga USD1.000 atau sekira Rp9,4 juta.

Ponsel ini diklaim menggabungkan kemewahan desain yang modis serta fungsi mutakhir yang mudah digunakan dan tidak merepotkan.

"Tampilan elegan nampaknya telah menjadi bagian kehidupan bisnis sehari-hari. Itu sebabnya ketika Samsung meminta sata untuk merancang sebuah ide untuk gaya hidup dalam berponsel, saya memutuskan untuk menggunakan estetika fesyen yang saya miliki," kata Armani seperti dikutip dari TG Daily, Sabtu (10/10/2009).

Tidak ada fitur istimewa pada ponsel ini melainkan hanya karena rancangannya yang eksklusif. Ponsel rancangan Samsung dan Armani ini dilengkapi layar sentuh 3,5 inchi jenis AMOLED dan papan keyboard QWERTY.

Adapun sistem operasi yang digunakannya adalah Windows Mobile 6.5 dari Microsoft. Sama seperti ponsel cerdas pada umumnya, ponsel ini pun dilengkapi fasilitas akses WiFi, HSDPA 7,2Mbps, Bluetooth, FM Radio, TV-Out, navigasi GPS, dan kamera 5 megapixel.

Untuk penyimpanan data tersedia memori internal sebesar 8GB yang bisa ditambah hingga 32GB.

Imagio HTC, Ponsel Windows Mobile 6.5

Verizon menjadi yang pertama dalam menawarkan ponsel yang berbasis Windows Mobile 6.5 milik HTC, yaitu HTC Imagio. Ponsel cerdas ini akan mulai masuk toko di Amerika Serikat pada 20 Oktober mendatang.

HTC masih menerapkan full touch screen pada Imagio menyuguhkan layar LCD berukuran 3,6 inchi dengan touch-sensitive serta resolusi WVGA. Untuk mengetik, Imagio disematkan on-screen Qwerty untuk memudahkan pengetikan.Tambahan lain yang cukup menarik adalah akses satu sentuhan untuk mengakses ke berbagai multimedia.

Seperti yang dilansir melalui Slash Gear, Kamis (1/10/2009), oleh vendor asal Taiwan tersebut HTC Imagio juga sudah dibenamkan dengan teknologi layar sentuh kembangan HTC, yaitu TouchFLO3D, yang mana membuat tampilan antarmukanya menjadi lebih nikmat dengan navigasi yang mudah.

Fitur lain untuk menunjang hiburan serta kekuatan sistem operasi Windows Mobil 6.5 di HTC Imagio adalah konektivitas HSPA yang semakin mantap dengan fitur wi-fi.

Belum lagi audio jack 3.5 mm agar bisa kompatibel dengan gagdet lainnya. HTC Imagio juga dilengkapi dengan kamera 5,0 megapiksel dengan autofocus untuk menangkap memori indah bersama teman dan keluarga.
